i like saying 'i've just returned from spending time in wine country'. it makes me feel grown up and just a touch more sophisticated then i really am.

sometimes inspiration can be found right under your nose (or feet).

the perfect sunday of farmers market and coffee in the sun. my favorite is watching the old chinese and indian women selecting their fruits and vegetables for the week...going about it in such a serious, unselfconscious way- building a small relationship with each tangerine, mango, and avocado they examine. there is a true underlying art to the sunday farmers market circuit...

a walk in the nz woods...

i recently had to put together a pre-fab set of drawers for my office. i'm sad to say the cabinets proved to be smarter then me...i'm not sure how that is possible with such amazing directions (above). i managed to bang together the cabinet by forcing pegs where they weren't supposed to go and making my own screw holes. it took me the better part of 2 hours, and the final product is a testimony to my failure- tilting at a strange angle, the bottom drawer not closing properly. i don't think woodworking is my strong point. but for some reason i did like the overall aesthetic of those completely confounding directions- perhaps i can craft together a card from them- maybe they will be prove to be useful after all.

babies, babies everywhere. although the jury is still out on how i feel about babies- my friends sure do like 'em...and i've been busy making tiny screenprinted onesies to keep up with the onslaught of bundles of joy. the shirt pictured above is a grown-up shirt i made for clarissa's bday last year.

there was something creepy and beautiful about these birds outside my bedroom window.

this peeling paint caught my eye walking home the other night...wood grain seems to be another one of my current obsessions.

I, for one, am a bit annoyed that no one told me I could be sucked into a blackhole this evening...now there's barely time to purchase duct tape and canned goods.
